When you have a hosting account with Frontdreams Hosting and want to use an external domain, you'll need to update your domain's nameservers to point to our hosting servers. This process allows your domain to connect to our hosting infrastructure, enabling your website to be accessible to visitors. In this knowledge base article, we will guide you through the steps required to configure hosting with an external domain using Frontdreams Hosting's nameservers.

Step 1: Accessing Your Domain Registrar's Account

  1. Go to the website of the domain registrar where you registered your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
  2. Log in to your account using your domain registrar's provided credentials.

Step 2: Locating the Domain Management Settings

  1. Once logged in, navigate to the domain management section or the control panel of your domain.
  2. Look for an option like "Domain Settings," "DNS Management," or "Nameservers."

Step 3: Updating Nameservers

  1. In the domain management settings, locate the section for updating or modifying nameservers.
  2. Replace the existing nameservers with the following nameservers:
    ns1.boxsecured.com

ns2.boxsecured.com

Step 4: Saving Changes

  1. After entering the new nameservers, review the changes to ensure accuracy.
  2. Save the updated nameserver settings.
  3. The changes may take some time to propagate across the internet. This process is known as DNS propagation and typically takes a few hours, but it can occasionally take up to 48 hours.

Step 5: Verifying Nameserver Update

  1. To confirm that the nameserver update is successful, you can use a DNS lookup tool or website (such as https://dnschecker.org/) to check the nameserver records for your domain.
  2. Enter your domain name and select "NS" (nameserver) as the record type to verify if the nameservers are set to ns1.boxsecured.com and ns2.boxsecured.com.

By following the steps outlined in this knowledge base article, you can easily configure hosting with an external domain using Frontdreams Hosting's nameservers. Remember to allow some time for the nameserver changes to propagate, and once the process is complete, your domain will be successfully connected to your hosting account with Frontdreams Hosting. If you encounter any issues during this process, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for assistance.
